Just found out that this test I'm taking in two hours is worth 15%, not 30%. That revelation has convinced me that I have time to waste, despite there being most of the material left to study.

It's so hard to take this term seriously. Like walking into the endzone.

I don't feel like forming paragraphs, so here is a summary of my day (in no particular order) in point-form using the smallest number of prepositions possible:

- ate large bowl of multi-grain cheerios
- tried to plot isochrones unsuccessfully
- met with Dr. Sills, scoffed merrily at start-up quantum computing company in Burnaby
- met with Dr. Timusk and talked to his son on his office phone for some reason
- printed off reference letter templates; realized grad school apps are even more unreasonable than previously thought
- scarfed down standard buffalo-chicken&chocolate-milk lunch
- decided my mp3 player is a piece of shit
- took a bus to toronto; tried to read on the way but fell asleep
- walked along front street and got all caught up in modern urban professionalism
- had coffee with Jim Handman in the CBC first floor cafe; tried to act like I had more than two questions to ask him, which I did not
- left the CBC building; held the door for an attractive 20-something intern who did not say 'thank you'
- relucantly used my credit card in a phone booth to place a 30 second call to Hamilton; will no doubt cost me $10
- grabbed a chocolate chip mmmuffin
- returned to Hamilton
- cooked up a frozen pizza; had my first experience with Edam cheese which is not bad
- watched a teenage dude decimate two teenage girls on teen jeopardy
- had a heart-to-heart with the roommate on the topics of: hamilton street signs, what I'm doing for reading week, how cbc news was obviously having a very slow news day, how some guy called him an asshole at work for trimming folliage
- returned to campus to read for thursday mid-term
- fell asleep on office couch
- woke up and printed off silly pictures
- took bus home and further developed existing rapport with late-night bus driver lady
- told myself I should document the day to make it seem more impressive
- grabbed a glass of water and wondered if I've actually had anything to drink today besides a coffee

I think that's it.
So this is a little delayed, but we lost that game. You might say we've been playing it over and over again in our minds such that it never really ended. We had a man advantage through most of it, and still got dominated, leading to a 3 - 1 defeat.

Ryan, Matt and I being dominated defensively

This little move didn't work very well

Some idiot who thinks he should wear shorts in -14C windchill...

Anyway, I saw Wedding Crashers for the first time last night. It was too overhyped for me I think - not a bad comedy, but not 'the funniest movie ever' either. Should have seen it in theatres.

Going to the CBC building in TOR later today. Meeting the Executive Producer of Quirks & Quarks to chat about science media. Should be cool, so I'll keep you posted. Maybe I'll run into celebrities like J.W. Patterson.

The 'Sons of Stager' start their second season tomorrow at 12:30 pm; that is, a season of intramural street-hockey at Mac. Last year we lost every regular season game only to make it to the semi's in a Cinderalla-story playoff tourney.
This year we have quite a few amazing prospects, including Matthew Schnurr and a bunch of skilled third year physics guys. We'll take them all down. We also have Sarah doing our cheerleading, which should hopefully distract some of the enemy folk.
I'll post again tomorrow after 1:30 to let you know the outcome. If we lose...well we won't lose.

(before)

(after)

So i've spent the last five hours fixing my computer, cleaning my room and fixing my broken furniture. My life is slowing coming back into order after a long vacation in Choas; it was an excursion that lasted ten or more years, and I'm glad to have myself back.

The weather outside is frightful, but I'm heading off to The Barn anyhow. Matt, who has also been cooped up all day, is coming with me for the sake of getting some air and returning Corpse Bride. It wasn't a bad film - probably my favourite Tim Burton claymation (or whatever that's called).

When I return I'm going to start working on starting a schedule on my computer in hopes that it will help me prevent missing more meetings and due dates. You may note how these little efficiency projects of mine are actually just means to the end of putting off doing actual work...and you'd be entirely correct about that.

frequent night owls

I was making this list for one of my facebook groups but I got too tired to finish it.. If you can think of anything else to add leave a commento

YOU KNOW YOU'RE A NIGHT OWL WHEN:

1. You think midnight is early
2. You barely see your housemates because they wake up when you go to sleep and sleep when you wake up
3. Getting to your first class is always a struggle… and it’s at 11:30am or later
4. Most of your time in class is spent trying to uncross your eyes
5. You go back to read your notes and they're the furthest thing from the subject matter, or the English language
6. You're on a first name basis with the Ultra Mart night staff
7. You're not really sure when you should brush your teeth because it's not clear when one day ends and another begins
8. You watch Breakfast television while eating your supper
9. The sound of birds chirping annoys you because it means you should probably start wrapping things up
10. You wish the library was 24 hours just so you didn’t have to worry about getting to school in the morning
11. All the links on your message boards are red
12. You can recite the lines to the Magic Bullet infomercial and actually kind of want one
13. You start thinking about what the girls on those adult call infomercials are like in real life and now hate that one dancing brunette with the headphones
14. It's lighter out when you go to bed than when you wake up
15. You're on dave shin's number one internet site posting a stupid list at 5:39am and have no idea why or how you got there
